All About the BAG Giveaway

Confession: I'm a bag junkie.
My husband calls me the "bag lady" because I've got a purse/tote/sack/satchel for everything, and they can be found everywhere in our house. But I know that I'm not alone (you know who you are!), and so in honor of this obsession, I'm hosting a giveaway for not one, but TWO of the following:

The Michael Kors Gorgeous Weekender Bag!  Hurray!

Two lucky peeps get to stash their workout clothes, knick knacks, daily essentials, or diapers (for the babies of course, unless, well, someone else needs them...hee hee) in this awesome bag!  Guys: You can win too...Valentine's Day is coming up and this bag has plenty of room for chocolates, er, um, I mean Chocolate GU and healthy foods.  Unless of course, you want to sport it yourself.  I'm not judging. ;)  Rock on!

Here's how to enter:
(1 comment = 1 entry each)

"Required" entry:
Become a follower of this blog & let me know (1 entry)

Additional entries:
  • Link to this giveaway on your blog, Twitter (include @RunZoeRun), and/or Facebook.  Let me know in a comment (1 entry each, 3 possible)
  • Tell me a funny story that involves a bag/handbag/gym bag, etc (1 entry)
That's a total of 5 possible entries...sweeeeet.

The giveaway will end next Tuesday 2/2, winners announced on Wednesday the 3rd.  And, to be fair, you can only win one of these totes...gotta share the love. :)

  4. And a funny bag story?

Have you been to a Hibachi restaurant? Well, the chef throws shrimp at you to try and catch in your mouth. I caught a few, but a few days later, my purse was smelling pretty funky. I look in one of the pockets and there was a shrimp looking right up at me! LOL! Nasty!

  7. I can't think of a good bag story. But some people might think that what's in my purse right now is funny: two toddler socks that don't match, a book of Costco coupons, Gas-X, Pepto tablets, 5 (!) different lip glosses, about an inch of crumpled receipts, a novel, keys, phone, and, oh yeah, my wallet. :) OK. Not that funny. Maaaaaybe slightly interesting. Right?

  10. Okay, I'm game! I saw this from Kerrie T's blog post (props for Kerrie!)

I have a sort of funny bag story... when I was seven my parents took me to Hawaii and I packed this tiny little kids bag and then when we were transferring planes in Honolulu I left it on one of the Wiki Wiki buses at the airport then had a fit and made my Dad run all over the airport looking on all the buses. He opened my important bag to find my travel tooth brush - you know the one that was two parts you had to put together to use... Now I have kids and I have to give my Dad credit for caring enough to get that bag for me.

  12. A funny bag story for me right now is I appear to have outgrown my purse...and I like BIG purses. I can never seem to do a quick zip on it anymore...hmm could that be because of carrying around a giant plastic cheerio container full of snacks, a sippy cup, antibacterial wipes, various Little People toys all in hopes that i can make it through an entire trip to the grocery store without a melt down. I'm in desparate need of a larger tote obviously :)

  20. I have never carried a diaper bag, I just use my purse. Well one girls night out we kept talking about how awful it smelled at our table. Fast forward to the end of the night, I got in my car, and the smell followed me. I looked in my purse and at the bottom was a week old sippy cup full of milk, that had leaked out some all over my purse.

  21. Not sure if this is funny or horrible. When my youngest, Natalie, was 11 weeks old, I took her with me on a trip to my friend's bridal shower. Well, it was my first time flying alone and my first time with a connection. I landed in Charlotte, my connection city and had to run to my next flight since we were so late. But when I tried to pull up the handle, it broke and I couldn't drag it behind me. UGH! So there I was with an infant car seat in one arm, broken suitcase in the other and diaper bag over my shoulder, running through the airport. I must have looked crazy. Best part though, I was freaking out to get to my connection and once I got there, I found out it was canceled. Then I just had to laugh at myself ...

  24. And I have a good gym bag story for ya: mine is like 500 years old, but, I refuse to get a new one because, well, it's 500 years old and I'm cheap and whatever. So, one of the straps has broken off and the fabric where it broke was really thin, so, now there's this giant hole in it. I try to craay it with the hole towards me so that people can't see it. Well, this works until something falls out of the bag (because the hole is like the size of a small child at this point). Like a bottle of shampoo. Or a shoe.

    Awesome.

  26. Ok, maybe not a funny story but definitely a gross one.

We went to an outdoor work function when my son was a baby. Of course he had a dirty diaper. There weren't any bathroom accomadations (seriously?who plans an outdoor event without a bathroom). Anyway, I was forced to change my kiddo on the grass and then wrapped the diaper up and tossed it in the diaper bag for later disposal.

I'm not going to admit to how long "later" was....but lets just say I ended up tossing that diaper bag. Yuck!

  29. Silly bag story:
Do you remember when the little back pack purse came out? Well, my sister and I were in high school at the time. My daddy is a bag lover too. One day he came home with a tiny back pack and was so excited to show us is find. Of course, we had to burst his bubble and tell him it was a purse.
Then a few months later, he came home with what he called a camera bag. It was a messenger bag style purse. We just about fell on the floor laughing.
My poor daddy. It must be hard having 3 daughters.

  30. Bag story - The one and only time I flew was to St. Louis. We got off on the wrong stop on the shuttle thing and had to walk quite a bit to our hotel. The arm thingie on my bag broke and I had to rig it all up with my jacket and a bungee strap.
Soooo lovely walking around St. Louis like that.

  32. A funny bag story...

I work at our local YMCA teaching swimming and I also have a 6 year old son. When I go to work, he comes and swims in the pool. This means I require a LARGE bag for towels, swimsuits, clothes to change into after work, etc. I use a rolling suitcase/duffel bag that I call my "gym bag" Everyone at the Y teases me about my gigantic bag and my Son and husband call it my "suitcase" because they know it annoys me, I much prefer to call it my "gym bag". Ok, so maybe it's not funny to you but my son finds it hilarious! ;)

  35. My funny story:
I was an orientation leader in college during the summer. We had basically were with students and their parents the entire day while doing presentations and an hour long play/musical! They had given us bags and we were required to wear khakis and a polo every day. Some how a juice bottle opened up and was dripping in the bag, which consequently dripped on my pants. Looked like I peed my pants the rest of the day, special. To hid the wet spot/stain I use the bag to cover it up, sort of.

  43. My Bag story.....My mom got me this awesome suitcase with matching luggage carry on bag. I loved it. It was checker black and white with red all over it. I took it everywhere. My friends kept trying to come up with a name for me that matched my bag. Some were not the nicest of comments but then they came up with the perfect one. Vixen. I laugh and think of it every time I travel!

  46. guess i don't really have the greatest bag story BUT i'm a college student so my bag has been through a lot in terms of sneaking food out of the dining hall (i've put some weird stuff in there) or sneaking alcohol around campus!

  47. When my son was about 9 months old to 13 months old he had a thing for purses! If we had friends over or went anywhere we would have to ask them to watch thier bags because my son would snoop through the purses and take the wallets! It was very humiliating yet very funny! We started joking and telling him to take the green paper! :) Thankfully he has out grown the wallet snatching but he still likes to carry my purse for me in the grocery store. Is that bad?

  50. Funny gym bag story: My hubby just bought me this awesomely huge nike pink gym bag which I use for everything but going to the gym. I pack my overnight clothes in it for when I go visit the parentals for the weekend. You know how cats LOVE to jump into open boxes, open paper bags, etc? Kitty cat Suzy jumped into my gym bag and stayed in there. I didn't notice the 12 pound difference apparently when I picked it up to transfer it downstairs and add a few more things to it before loading it in the car. I made it downstairs and started stuffing my sweater in there when SOMETHING BIT ME! 5 seconds later out hopped Suzy, rather miffed that I wasn't taking her along for the weekend. Poor kitty.

  58. A funny story involving a bag....I love all kinds of purses, totes, bags and such as well and my hands are so full when I go to work each day. With a purse, laptop bag, running bag, and cute lunch bag, I have trouble keeping track the night before if I've packed all my bags correctly and often will put things in the wrong bag.

  60. My funny bag story has to do with my husband's book bag. We were on the bus one day when he noticed a lump in the front pocket of his bag. He couldn't figure out what it was. When he looked inside the pocket, he found half of a Chipotle burrito that he'd put in there about a week before. Surprisingly, it didn't smell at all.

I ended up not buying any and left the store. I wondered around for a bit longer but didn't find anything worthy of spending my money on (i am a college student ya know). I headed home and once I got home my dad told me Anthro had been calling the house, my dads cell, mom's cell, and brothers cell (from my phone) letting them know I had left my purse in the store. WOW. I went on facebook and had about 50 posts on my wall saying "hey some store called me from your phone today saying you left your bag there." Embarassing. Had to drive back and retrieve it. Good one Katye, Good one =)
