Rat Cat and Some Ace

Aw, poor Murphy.  He got a bath and looks like a drowned rat kitty.  Heh heh.  I'm not evil, he was just shedding too much and Trav is allergic.  Murph is forgiving though, and even wants to cuddle while he's dripping wet.

Anyway...back to my friend the treadmill last night because it was pouring/hailing outside.  My movie of choice was Ace Ventura (allllllrighty then). :)  I alternated 2 min run with 2 min walk for 20 minutes. Took a break and then wasn't satisfied with only 1.6 miles...so I finished Ace while walking fast on a 6-8% incline. Holy booty!  :)  Loved it!  Total of 3.6 miles.

I really want to sign up for the Nordstrom Beat the Bridge again this year.  It was pretty much the race two years ago that threw me back into running reality.  No 8K PR, mind you, but I'm going to beat that damn bridge! :)  Plus, it goes through my alma mater's campus (and where I met Trav)!

In other news, Goober (aka the little bun in the oven) is healthy and now 12 weeks into the baking process.  I actually got to hear he/she's heartbeat at the doc's today...it was amazing.  I wish Trav could've been there to hear it.  Doc was like "Yup, no denying it now. You are pregnant."  Um, yes, thank goodness it's not a tumor or alien. ;)  I'm not "showing" yet, but to me, my waist is disappearing.  I look like a boy with no defined waist. :(  Oh well.

Fantastic Run

Saturday was an interesting day.  I had just tied my shoes and attached Gus II to my wrist when I looked outside...pouring rain.  Ergh.  Not my fave, but whatever.  So I changed into my lightweight REI waterproof shell and waited for Gus II to find a satellite.  Then the rain slowed down.  Yay!

By the time I was a mile into my run, the rain had completely stopped and there were hints of sunshine.  The air smelled fresh and the warm breeze felt amazing.  I think I may have been smiling on this run, that is, until the inevitable bug smacked me in the face.  Of course. :P

My goal nowadays is to just run.  That's it.  I'm not caring what my pace is at all, and if I have to walk, I don't stop Gus II.  I just can't run fast right now, and I'm getting used to the idea more and more everyday.  So, my beautiful Saturday afternoon run (which ended in complete warm sunshine that made me feel HOT), was exactly what I needed.  And this pretty little thing on my front lawn made me smile too:

Just to be clear though....I, however, am not a pansy. Hee hee.
It's just too bad that Trav mowed the lawn on Sunday morning.  Crap.

I'm officially 12 weeks today.  Ran/walked on the treadmill late last night and had to walk more than run because my tummy was a little upset.  But I got in 4.2 miles!

A couple of shout-outs:
TMB: Thank you times a million for sending me the maternity running skirt!!  I can't wait to use it!
Amanda: Congrats on becoming a marathoner and finishing OKC like a rockstar!
Mel: You are amazing and I'm very excited for your upcoming Eugene Marathon experience. :)
My sisters Karrie & Liza:  Way to go on starting your C2 5K program!!! YAY!

Some Tidbits

I'm back with a vengeance!  Well, not quite yet, but trying to.  I made some rounds on the bloglist and I must say that I'm so behind on what's going on with everyone!  (I really did miss you all).

Just wanted to say that I really wish I was in Boston this past weekend...it would've been a blast to cheer on some amazing runners!  Of course I'm extremely jealous of those fellow bloggers that ran and/or spectated the events.  You are awesome!  That'll be me someday...

Speaking of Boston, I miss Massachusetts.  Hopefully going to go there in July with my sisters for some family time (that's right, Coach Fish, we're still coming to the Cape!).  There's this local race that was my first ever when I was 11, and I want to run/jog/walk it this year too.  It's been 11 years since I ran it last!

That's it for now. Off to conquer some treadmill miles.

A HUGE Confession

Ok, you all know that I've missed you all, right?  I've been a very bad runner blogger these past few weeks.  But, I'd like to say that I have a very good reason for the extended absence.  So, here I go...

I hate running.

HAHA. Just kidding!  Me?  Hate running? Of course not!  Almost had you for a moment there, huh?  Hee hee.  Anyway, I hate to say it, but I've been kind of lying to you all.  My foot has been fantastic and hasn't been giving me as much grief as I let on a while back.  In fact, it's not even a problem anymore.  But why have I lied?  Trust me, I didn't want to, and I hate keeping stuff from my friends/blogging buddies.  Truth is....I'm pregnant.  Nope, not joking about this one.  Little 'ol me is going to be a mum. :)

There. The secret's out.  *HUGE SIGH*

That's the reason my pace has been slow for me and that I haven't been logging as much time on the blog/treadmill.  Truthfully, I was freaked out and pretty stressed about everything (new job, the break-in, and now I'm growing a little human??? woah there!).

In all seriousness, Trav and I are really excited.  :)  The little goober is due 11/9, and you know it's going to be a runner.  Or some sort of athlete.  With asthma.  And probably bad feet.  Hee hee.

Yup, running with a baby here at the Mercer Half Marathon!

Ok. I feel a zillion times better now.

Oh LIFE

Well hello there!  Remember me?  (I hope so!).  Life has gotten in the way of my running/blogging duties.  This new job is really fun, but there's a lot I must figure out how to do, and then there's the stress from the break-in last month...which caused a TMJ issue to flare up again.  So, that means I'm in constant pain. 24/7.  No pain free breaks whatsoever.  How have I been dealing with it?  Some drugs (no no, not that kind), a lot of sleep, no cold foods, some crying, and some crazy facial exercises.  I tell you.  TMJD is a BEEEYOTCH.  At times I just want someone to punch me in the face to make it feel better.  But I'm working on calming those urges...

I tell you though, my foot is feeling a million times better with this little break in running.  I think I might've needed it. :-/

But I'm so far behind on blogs!  I must get to reading!
