Travis and I have made it a point to utilize our little side yard with Goober when the weather is decent. As a kid I don't remember a day that I didn't go outside and play...even in the rain! My friends and I would build giant umbrella "forts" if the weather wasn't sunny, and being from Seattle, it happened a lot. My hope is that Goober enjoys the outdoors and being active like her parents did (and still do!). Sometimes you have to put away that iPad/iPhone/computer for a bit. Here's Goob and her dad hanging out the other day:

I lived to be outside when I was growing up. I was always down at the barn helping my dad with chores- feeding calves, driving tractors, building hay forts etc. Makes me sad more kids don't spend time enjoying the outdoors- video games are bad! Goober is cute times 1 million. Love her pink shoes!!!
ReplyDeleteI loved being outside when I was small, but quickly turned into an inside girl as I got older. But I think those moments as a tot in nature have stayed with me. Good for you for encouraging the incredibly adorable Goober!!
