I think Brooks had a chat with Mother Nature and said "let's give Zoë a real NW greeting on this trial run with our shoes." The run started off ok, a little windy, but not bad. Then it was gusty in crazy spurts. Then the rain started pelting me and I thanked Ron silently for the hat I was wearing. What can I say though? The shoes are local and they needed to be tested in the right environment. :) And they passed! Now, if only they can hold up for four weeks...
Post-Run---my Mizuno ad pic
By the way, I'm taking suggestions for possible marathons this year. What's your favorite?
Also, today's funny word of the day is douche. Check out the Saturday Night Live skit about sports commentary on a Ladies' Darts tourney. Hilarious! "When your man's in a coma from your panty aroma." OMG. I love SNL.
Word of the day! That's great. All of those SNL Ladies Sports skit are hilarious. Douche was all over the place last night, it was on like 3 shows I watched.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a hardcore run! You rock! Hope the new shoes hold up at least until March!
lol! Too funny love it!
ReplyDeletegood luck with the shoes! :0)
I hope the shoes workout. I am still trying to decide what I want to go with.
ReplyDeleteThe Marine Corps Marathon was awesome, if you can make the trip it is well worth it.
Wearing out after 3 weeks?? Awesome that they'll take them back up to 60 days... our local store will only return within 30 and not if they're worn outside. Sucks!
ReplyDeleteLove the Mizuno top!
Can't believe those shoes wore out that fast--crazy! Hope these ones last for you :)
ReplyDeleteHope the shoes work out for you, I've heard great things about Brooks. I'm thinking of trying them out for next pair.
ReplyDeleteMy hubby said douche the other day an dI almost died. I HOPE the shoes work for you. The only thing I noticed with mine is they are a little slick on roads that are wet and mossy.. Hmmmm..
ReplyDeleteSee you tomorrow!
I hope these shoes work out for you! Nothing worse then a neverending show search!
ReplyDeleteforced. so so forced..
ReplyDeleteI've got to get some new shoes soon and I seriously get nervous when I have to get a new pair. The old shoes are like old friends, you know?
ReplyDeleteHope this pair works out for you. Think I'll steer clear of the NBs.
Funny skit! Thanks for the laugh! "Speaking of fish..." HAHA!
That is an AWESOME pic Zoe! Love it. You look so tough and hardcore :)
ReplyDeleteHope the shoes work out for you. How about the Nike Women's Marathon in October? It's on my radar for the half marathon.
I have that same Mizuno jacket and love it!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the new shoes! I'm so thankful for trial periods.
ReplyDeleteI love new running shoes! hope these work out!
ReplyDeleteSNL...I think so much of life could be written for an SNL skit. I have those shoes and LOVE them. Hope you continue to enjoy them.
ReplyDeletegood luck with the shoes! I am at a bit of a shoe crossroads (again) myself! Hot top! Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteI loved my GTS 9's and someone love the GTS 10's even more. The Adrenalines are just really awesome shoes and mine hold up forever. Hope yours do to! I say you run San Diego only because it will be my first marathon and I would love to meet some of you!
ReplyDeleteI vote San Diego! (I'll be there doing a marathon relay and I'd get to meet the legend!)
ReplyDeletei hope these shoes work out! thankfully i haven't had trouble yet with shoes... but i know plenty of people who were swapping out for awhile.
